Mistfall Hunter Beginner Guide
Your first run should teach the loop: prepare lightly, choose a readable class, take controlled fights, extract early, and learn what risk feels like.
- The core loop is class/build choice, PvE and rival-player risk, looting, extraction, and death pressure.
- Solo play is possible, and team play supports up to three players total.
- Death can cost the run's spoils, so extraction is a core beginner skill.
- Returner Woodling and Soul of Return are public extraction terms.
- Exact death penalty edge cases and gear retention rules.
- Best beginner builds, talent values, gem priorities, and item affixes.
- Map routes, boss timings, loot tables, and safe extraction locations.
- Launch-version class balance.
First-Run Checklist
- Pick a class by role, not by a final tier list.
- Enter with a low-risk mindset: learn animations, ranges, and escape timing.
- Take a few PvE fights to understand how quickly damage adds up.
- Stop looting once the run is worth saving.
- Look for the extraction flow instead of roaming until another team finds you.
- After the run, note what killed you: greed, poor spacing, bad route, or a fight you did not need.
What to Bring
Because launch-version loadout details and economy values are not verified, the safest v0.1 advice is to bring only what you are willing to lose while learning. Bring enough to understand your class, but do not risk a prized kit in your first few beta runs.
Learn movement, basic attacks, enemy pressure, inventory pacing, and extraction behavior.
Copying an unsourced build, rushing a boss route, or chasing PvP before you understand extraction.
What Not to Risk
- Do not risk a kit you cannot afford to lose while testing basic controls.
- Do not treat beta loot or beta builds as permanent launch investments.
- Do not follow unsourced claims about best-in-slot items, boss routes, or loot values.
- Do not stay in the run just because the next room might be better.
When to Extract
Extract when the run has achieved its purpose. For a first run, the purpose is often learning plus bringing back a small haul, not clearing the whole map. If your bag already feels valuable, shift from looting mode to extraction mode.

Solo vs Team Notes
Solo is possible, but it demands cleaner decisions because no teammate can cover a bad fight. Teams can support up to three players total, which changes class value: support and frontline roles may matter more in coordinated groups than they do in solo beta runs. Team role value and class balance are Open Beta / pre-launch observations and may change before or at launch.
Common Beginner Mistakes
- Taking every PvP fight because the game has PvP.
- Waiting too long to extract after finding useful loot.
- Ignoring sound, sightlines, and escape paths while fighting PvE enemies.
- Assuming a beta class opinion is a launch-version truth.
- Using unverified route maps or build pages as if they were tested data.
